Here is my favorite method for making homemade ground cumin powder that's packed with rich flavor and aroma. Store-bought ground cumin will pale in comparison!
The only thing you need is some whole cumin seeds!
Toast cumin seeds in a heated pan for 3-4 mins over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until fragrant. Be careful not to burn them!
Then, transfer the seeds to a paper towel-lined plate. Spread them out and allow them to cool.
After cooling, grind the cumin seeds using a spice or coffee grinder. Or, use a pestle and mortar.
Transfer the ground cumin powder into an airtight container. That simple!
