Revive your stale baguette and other crusty breads with this simple method. You don't need to buy a fresh loaf every time you want to enjoy a sandwich or a warm buttered slice.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Then briefly run your baguette under cold tap water to wet the crust.
Bake the baguette on the middle oven rack for 8 to 12 minutes. Then carefully remove it from the oven.
Check the baguette by cutting a small piece to see if it's warm and soft inside with a crispy crust. If not, bake for another minute or two.
Let the baguette cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Serve the baguette with butter, dips, or as a side dish. Click the link below for some great serving suggestions.
This method also works for other crusty breads, such as French bread, sourdough, ciabatta, focaccia, rustic loaves, and artisan loaves.
